Darbuka I. - which is planned to be part of a series - aims to help with learning to play darbuka. Although darbuka is traditionally a Middle Eastern percussion instrument, it can be heard more and more in different musical contexts (folk music, world music, jazz, contemporary compositions, etc.). The exercises, rhythms and improvisational activities - while based on the tradition of the instrument - try to show you that with proper technical skill and a creative approach, your playing can be utilized in other genres as well.
