Giuseppe Gariboldi (1833-1905) was a great virtuoso flautist of the nineteenth century, who travelled to several countries in Europe performing in concerts, then for decades he taught the flute and composition. He is the composer of many pieces and études, and also published a flute method. His exercises have become teaching material for the learning of the flute all over the world. The editor of this volume, Vilmos Bántai, has enriched the repertoire of Hungarian flute teaching with the publishing of much new music, we have him to thank for the first Hungarian edition of Gariboldi's études.
