A sequel to the Cello ABC and Violoncello Method 2. The basic principle of its construction is similar to that of the previous two volumes: clearly grouped, attractive musical material for which the most effective order for teaching can be decided by the teacher, taking account of students’ capabilities. The sole aim of volume 3 is to lay the foundation for clear and confident playing in the first four positions, thus it does not contain any new tasks relating to bow-handling or rhythm. Arranged in the order of the positions, the material begins in each position with the most essential technical exercises, then progresses from easier works to longer and more demanding ones. A considerable proportion of the material consists of pieces with piano accompaniment, and duets the latter make it possible in every lesson for the learner to make music together with the teacher.
